2. To promote the development and reinforce of ecotourism.

3. To act as the representative organism for the ecotourism sector before national and international entities.

4. To propose policies and to protect the ecotourism interests before national and international entities, public and private.

5.  Awareness that ecotourism is a tool for economic development and conservation of natural and cultural resources of the country.

6. Protecting the natural and cultural heritage of the country.

7. To promote the use of natural and cultural resources of the country in a sustainable manner.

8. To define and ratify the ethical and practical concepts that ensure the sustainability of ecotourism, as well as to supervise and guard its performance.

9. To encourage education and training to ensure economic, socio-cultural and environmental sustainability of ecotourism, for both the associates and the general community.

10. To advise its associates.

11. To be the informative organism of the ecotourism sector.

12. To strengthen relationships within the ecotourism sector, through the information exchange, mutual support and the creation of forums and discussion spaces.

13. To encourage and guide technical, legal and economic advisory for the development of the ecotourism sector in Costa Rica, without neglecting any help that we can give to the ecotourism activity in other countries.

14. To efficiently collaborate with all associations, groups and institutions, public or private, national and international that work for biodiversity conservation and the welfare of communities.
